Using optimism and positivity to get through challenging times

Training your mind to have positive thoughts allows you to become more optimistic and can often propel you into a position of leadership.  Optimism is believing that there are good things to come in your future, while positivity is the focus on the good in your life.  

 Some tips to follow to think positive in a negative situation include embrace the fear you have, shift your focus to how you can fix or cope with the problem, and find how you can control the environment you are in.  A business’ environment is reliant on how the employees think and act.  It’s crucial for the success of the business that the owners or leaders remain a positive influence on its employees in times when the business comes in contact with struggles. Often this can include societal struggles that have a lasting impact on employee energy and morale. 

How to keep your environment positive

There are six ways to manifest positivity:

  1. Positive thinking
  2. Constructive thinking
  3. Creative thinking
  4. Visualization
  5. Motivation 
  6. Attitude of happiness

The power of positivity and the impact on productivity

Manifesting positivity leads to better results and a more enjoyable process.  The benefits of positivity include:

  • Increasing your energy
  • Increasing brain stimulation
  • Reducing stress
  • Enhancing problem solving skills
  • Helping identify and take advantage of opportunities
  • Helping you work better in teams

Ways of life that lead to a positive environment 

Maintaining a positive environment will radiate light around you to others.  From a business standpoint, business leaders that promote positivity will shed it to their employees and the ones around them. To achieve a positive work environment, you should begin by personally creating and making sure that you have a positive mindset yourself.  There are many ways to build a positive mindset for yourself:

  • Begin your days with positive affirmations
  • Focus on the good happenings in your life
  • Use humor to help get through bad situations
  • Learn from your failures
  • Avoid negative self-talk and concentrate on positive self-talk
  • Keep your mind in the present
  • Bring positive people into your life

Once you build a positive mindset, you can then work on bringing these ways to build an overall positive mindset in your work environment.  For example, you can incorporate beginning your days with positive affirmations by making sure that your employees begin their work days with a positive affirmation.  A positive affirmation you can give your employees can be complimenting them on their good work.  Overtime, your workplace environment will be a place of happiness, productivity, and great successes.
